How is your e-Portfolio going to be assessed?
First Assessment
The first thing you have to do is to create your "virtual notebook", customise it just as you would do with a physical notebook.
Be creative!
After this first period of time, your e-Portfolio will be assessed by your teacher taking into account all physical aspects of your site: aesthetics (appearance), clear structure and navigation ease.
For this purpose an assessment rubric will be used. A rubric is an instrument used to help you or others make a judgment as to whether a task demonstrates that you are at the unacceptable, emerging, proficient, or exemplary level in the acquisition of the learning objective.
Knowing the assessment rubric beforehand will help you evaluate your own work (self-evaluation) as well as your peers´ (co-evaluation).
Following Assessment
Each artifact is aimed at reaching a learning goal or acquiring a basic competence. The artifact, therefore, will have its own assessment rubric, too. Eventually you will become familiar with all of the rubrics.
Each term your e-Portfolio will be assessed by your teacher taking into account aspects such as: the quantity and quality of the artifacts, appropriate use of multimedia and web 2.0 tools, degree of reflection and the quantity and quality of extra work.
