SAINT GEORGE´S DAY: 23rd APRIL: Learn and Celebrate our Patron Saint´s Day

If there is one thing we share with the English, this is the fact of having the same Patron Saint. A lot has been written about Saint George and his brave deeds. His world wide spread legend has taken many forms depending on the country in which he is celebrated.

Even though in Catalonia it is not a bank holiday (that means that people have to go to work), it is one of the most loved and awaited festivity. But how much do you know about tis legend?

In this section there are two booklets which contain a variety of activities suitable for students studying 1st and 2nd ESO (12-13-year-old students). Activities cover vocabulary related to the legend and the festivity, reading comprehension, short writing tasks, CLIL activities related to history and geography, poetry and drama. At the end of each booklet, there is a wide range of creative handicrafts to decorate the classroom.

A curated selection of resources is also provided. They can either be used to prepare extra material or to offer students further information and practice.
