Oral Presentations
Speaking is an essential part in the learning process of a foreign language. As students, you must always be eager to participate in class and look for the right chance to practise English.
Oral presentations involve speaking in front of an audience after having researched the topic, having prepared the contents and rehearsed the performance.
In this section you will find some general and more specific guidelines to prepare your oral presentations.

Writing Skills
If you panic in front of a blank sheet of paper every time you have to hand in your composition, this is the right place for you.
Writing is creative but it is also technical in most part. Knowing text types will help you structure each type of text. In the same way, knowing your audience and the purpose of the text will help you choose the right register.
Good writing implies reading and analysing good model texts and mastering the technique of using cohesion and coherence elements. Scaffolding becomes essential.
Scaffolding: a step-by-step process that provides the learner with sufficient guidance until the process is learned, and then gradually removes the supports in order to transfer the responsibility for completing the task to the student.
Grammar and Vocabulary
The set of structural rules which govern the English language; the mechanics towards mastering the target language.

Films in Original Version: My Great Ally
Film allows students to become familiar with authentic uses of the target language, and consequently, improve their knowledge of English. Watching a film in another language is therefore an excellent tool to learn and improve a foreign language and to become familiar with many cultural references linked to language learning.
Whether the film is an adaptation of a novel or not, a good didactic exploitation of the movie turns it into an almost endless source of knowledge and pleasure.
Literature: You are What you Read
Literature, as defined in the English Collins Dictionary is the "written material such as poetry, novels, essays, etc, especially works of imagination characterized by exellence of style and expression and by themes of general or enduring interest". Literature is the product of a culture and a period.
However, it is also a the place for you to get lost when you feel like travelling from the sofa in your livingroom or when you feel downcast or melancholic and need the soothing, comforting and pleasing sounds of poetry.
Literature is a world of its own. Come and see!
